Opening new doors with SBS

SBS (Smith Brothers Stores) and Stanair have worked together for many years across their various local depots. From Security Shutters to PVC Strip Curtains, we have been pleased to supply whatever was required. We were delighted then to hear that SBS were adding to their existing 17 nationwide depots with one in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire and that they wanted us to provide them with a brand-new Security Shutter for their main store entrance.
We were more than happy to assist this 125-year-old company and to help celebrate their continued growth in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) industry.
SBS are one of the oldest and largest independent merchants of HVAC in the UK and, since the founding of the company in 1897 by Walter Smith, the company has grown and grown from its Leicester roots to have sites all across England, Scotland and Wales.
The core of the company still centres around the distribution of pipework, valves, air conditioning and associated fittings – a range of products that look only to be in ever more demand as the heatwave continues. As the company continues to expand, it remains focused on its core objectives: to provide an unrivalled service, offer competitive pricing and exceed its customers’ expectations. An admirable goal indeed and something which Stanair are pleased to help support both now and in the future.
Our latest involvement with SBS centred around the opening of their new site in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire. The company had acquired a building but it needed some adjustments in order to become the site they envisioned. One of the changes needed was a new Security Shutter over their new Customer entrance.
The fitting of a Security Shutter would helps ensure that their new site and stock were protected from opportunistic thieves and would benefit from an anti-fall back system – ensuring that their Roller Shutter met the latest Health and Safety Regulations. Furthermore, their new Shutter was powder coated in Merlin Grey (to match their other Shutters) and electronically operated through an internal paddle switch.
The canopy which we fitted would help protect the motor and the lath from the elements when the Shutter was not in use – thus helping to prevent future repairs.
