There really cannot be anything more important than protecting against fire and its damaging effects on your site, business and, most importantly, your staff.   Here at Stanair, we are fully accreditated with the LCPB to repair and service your fire doors, shutters, curtains and related products.  Not only that, but our expert engineers conduct rigorous checks on your fire equipment to ensure it is fully compliant so you can enjoy total peace of mind - even if the worst should happen.

"Safety does not happen by accident'

This truism applies especially to fire doors, fire shutters and fire door security systems. It is one thing to have them installed, it is quite another thing to have them unexpectedly fail when they are most needed.

According to Regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992, 'all powered doors must be checked at regular intervals by inspection, testing, lubrication, repair and cleaning.'

This was expanded upon in 2005 where it was stated that all fire emergency doors must be regulary serviced every six months to ensure that they are in fully working condition. Failure to do so could result in a fine or even imprisonment so it is very important that you arrange regular and thorough checks of all aspects of your Fire Safety systems.

What is clear is that, to enjoy full peace of mind in your equipment and safety, you must employ experts to carry out these checks. Our expert engineers know exactly what to look for, how to resolve any issues and can ensure your fire resistant product works just as it should - as it has to do if the worst should happen.

Here at Stanair, our trained experts will be able to certify your door by carrying out extensive checks of all your equipments component parts - the curtain, the barrel, the guides and endplates just to name a few.

All of your Fire Safety maintenance must be logged and recorded - we can do all this for you and, due to our LPS1197 accreditation, we have shown ourselves to hold a stringent process and procedure regarding your doors and your safety.

Fire Shutters
Fire and smoke are great dangers to any business. Our range of fire rated roller shutters can help protect your site, staff and stock from the potentially devastating effects of fire.

Fire spreads. Very quickly. Fire Rated Roller Shutters can help to contain the flames in one area - making the fire more manageable and limiting the damage caused to your entire site.

Fire Shutters are an effective barrier against the spread of fire. How? When the fire alarm on the premises is sounded, they automatically shut - sealing off the area from the rest of the premises. Depending on their rating (30 minutes - four hours) they will continue to hold back the fire allowing you time to both evacuate and for emergency services to arrive.

All of the Fire Rated Shutters supplied by Stanair are fully certified to BS/CE standards, subject to rigorous testing and are fully compliant with the Fire Safety Regulations as laid down by UK law.

Remember: all Fire Rated products must be regularly serviced and maintained. Find out how we can help you here.

Fire Curtains
Fire Curtains are a great way to protect your site and staff from the deadly effects of fire. Whatever the size you need, wherever you need it: we can help.

Fire Curtains are a simple and cost effective way of compartmentalising different sections of your premises off from one another. In fact, they work in a very similar way to a Fire Roller Shutter in that, when the fire alarm is activated, they drop to create a seal. This means that the fire can be contained in just one area for as long as the curtain lasts.

Fire Curtains are expected to face the brunt of the flames so can withstand very high temperatures - as much as 980 degrees.

Fire curtains can be supplied in any size and feature a range of fire resistance capability. Our independent experts will be able to recommend the best type of fire curtain for you and your premises.

Remember also that all of your Fire Rated Products need to be regularly maintained and serviced to ensure they provide you with the protection you require. Whether you want your current curtain repaired or serviced, we can help. Get in touch today, check out our service and repair pages or view our FAQ section for more information about our accredited Fire Shutter Services.

What does a Fire Shutter actually do?
A fire shutter is designed to protect property, products and lives - no matter the type of building or business. They are perhaps most effective in high risk areas - such as canteens and kitchens - but can be installed as interior or exterior security shutters to any type of property.

The key lies in their fire rating - this basically translates to how many minutes can they protect your building against the damaging effects of fire, smoke and heat. This can range anywhere from one hour to four hours. In the event of a fire therefore, these shutters provide an excellent life saving service - time. Time to evacuate, time to call the fire bridage and time to get everyone to safety. Priceless.

How often should I have my Fire Doors and Shutters serviced?
Every six months according to the HSE but it is advised to carry out checks even more frequently if you have a very busy site.
