There are certain indicators that help remind us that summer is just around the corner. The sun is starting to shine, the flowers are starting to bloom, and the cricket season is about to begin!

Stanair are delighted to be returning as a sponsor for the Northamptonshire County Cricket Club’s loveable mascot, Steeler the Dog. As part of their sponsorship, members from the Stanair team were invited to the club’s recent Press Day. The day was an opportunity for the local and national media to interview the players and coaches ahead of the season, along with the chance for sponsors to meet the full team.

The Hevey Suite in the clubhouse was buzzing with excitement as players posed for photographs and signed memorabilia, along with TV interviews on the pitch outside. Despite the chilly breeze on the outfield, the sun shone down from a bright blue sky, leaving everyone hopeful that the cricket season would bring summer along with it.

“We’ve been very proud to support the County Cricket Ground for a number of years,” said Stanair Sales Manager Simon Barnicoat, who attended the Press Day, “it’s been great to meet the team at the Press Day and we’re very excited to see the season start.”

The club’s mascot, Steeler the Dog, has been sponsored by Stanair since 2013. A match day favourite, Steeler can be found around fans at T20 Blast home games, particularly with younger Steelbacks fans, who enjoy a dance and a selfie! When not performing on match days, Steeler attends local events around Northampton, bringing lots of fun and smiles wherever he goes.
