Starting in 1974 Stanair has over 45 years’ experience servicing and repairing industrial doors throughout the region. Working out of Kettering in the early years we now have four branches covering most of the Midlands and Home Counties.
Our Stanair Rugby depot provides industrial door installation, repair and servicing to Rugby, Warwickshire and the surrounding areas. We offer a 24-hour emergency industrial door repair service to both new and existing customers, 365 days a year.
Stanair works to ISO 9001 standards, is backed by the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF) and the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA); and is SAFE contractor approved.

Wayne Thompson
Director
Having worked for the company for over twenty years, Wayne is a long serving member of the Stanair family. Starting as the depot manager of Milton Keynes after a career in insurance, Wayne was promoted to director in 2020.
Wayne’s day to day responsibilities revolve around making sure that ‘things run smoothly’ – whether that is within the Milton Keynes depot itself or across the company. With an eye on ‘shaping the next generation’, Wayne is a forward thinker; he is always ready to listen to and consider the next big idea as well as making sure that, in the current moment, the Stanair team stay happy and fulfilled. He is always on hand to offer the benefit of his expertise and is committed to maintaining the success of the company into its next fifty years.
When he is not at work, Wayne can be found indulging in a spot of golf, attending live music gigs with his daughter or around his pets: a puggle named Charlie, a ginger tom called Thomas and an African land snail named Gary.
Gordon Lewis
Technical/Relief Surveyor
Gordon is a long serving member of Stanair having joined the team all the way back in 1977 after having served with the Royal Navy.
Joining as a senior engineer originally, Gordon has served Stanair in a variety of roles culminating in, most recently, his working as a surveyor. As part of his role, he visits sites and advises the customers on the best solutions for their needs. Meeting the customers and ‘getting out and about’ are the parts of his job that he likes the most and he is motivated by the desire to ‘see a job well done.’ Gordon credits his long service to the friendly and caring nature of the company as well as its supportive ethos.
When he is not giving Stanair and its customers the benefit of his expertise, this proud grandad enjoys ten pin bowling, exploring new places and even dog sitting his daughter’s Cane Carso puppy.
Chris, or ‘Trip’ as he is affectionately known, is Rugby’s surveyor responsible for visiting sites, assessing the customer’s needs, offering his advice and expertise before providing a quote for the work needed.
Putting names to faces, building relationships with customers and watching them grow and evolve are the parts of the job that make Chris especially proud. In addition, his four years serving as a Stanair engineer has given him an in-depth understanding of the products and services offered by the company. Believing that effective communication is the key to a smooth running operation, Chris acts as a bridge between the office, customers and engineers.
When he is not working, Chris enjoys going to the gym and being player/assistant manager of one of the Rugby Borough football teams.
