NMTC transports theatre-goers back to 'The Good Old Days' in latest production
Stanair supported Northampton Musical Theatre Company (NMTC) provided a night of glitz and glamour in their recent show, Old Time Music Hall.
Thirty members of NMTC dressed in traditional music hall costume and were accompanied by a string quartet, percussion and piano. The company gave rousing performances of old classics such as ‘We’ll Gather Lilacs’ and ‘My Old Man’, transporting the audience back in time to ‘The Good Old Days’. Held at the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton, audience members were also dazzled by Magician Steve Dimmer and left howling at Comedian Tony Howes.
The show is a stark contrast to NMTC’s next production, ‘Made In Dagenham’. The musical is an adaptation from a film of the same name, which in turn was based on the real events of the Ford sewing machinists strike of 1968. Rehearsals are now underway for a week long production run in October this year, and is set to be another showstopper.
“NMTC always put on a fantastic production and Old Time Music Hall was no different,” said Martin Wall, Director at Stanair, “we’re proud to support them and look forward to watching Made In Dagenham later this year.”
Congratulations to the whole cast and good luck in the preparations for the main event in October!
