PETERBOROUGH co-owner Julie Mahoney has paid tribute to the club’s Elite Partners for their winter loyalty.
Stanair Industrial Door Services and local Ford dealer T.C. Harrison Group have both signed up for another season despite all the uncertainty over the Panthers’ future.
Julie, who is also the club’s Finance and Commercial Director, said: “We are really grateful to both of them for sticking with us throughout a turbulent winter.
“It would have been easy for them to have walked away but they remained loyal throughout several months and both ourselves and our supporters should give them as much support as we can in return for that loyalty.”
Stanair have been Elite Partners since 2007 and TC Harrison also have a five-year link with the Panthers.
Stanair spokesman Martin Wall said: “We have been at Peterborough since 2006 when we sponsored two events and were sponsors the night we won the Elite League Grand Final.
“From then on we have been Elite sponsors and when Julie (Mahoney) rang to say we were back in the Elite League we said we would be back.”
TC Harrison’s agreement also sees the Panthers benefit when any fan buys a car from their Peterborough showroom in Oxney Road.
Regional Sales Manager Les Atherage said: “After a very difficult close season it is now time to put that behind us and concentrate on what the team does best – winning out on the track.
“In line with the company strategy of supporting local attractions we are very happy to continue this long standing relationship.
“Our relationship has been built up over the last five years and has benefited both parties.
“We look forward to a successful 2011 season both on and off track.”
TC Harrison was formed in Sheffield 80 years ago and still insist on the family values that made the original garage so successful back in 1931.
Besides their Peterborough showrooms they also have local branches at Huntingdon, Stamford and St. Neots.
Stanair Industrial Door Services was started in Kettering in 1974 now also has depots in Milton Keynes, Rugby and Peterborough.
They employ nearly 70 staff and are heavily involved in grass roots sponsorship as well as high-profile branding in several sports including football, cricket and speedway.
Mr. Wall added: ““Speedway has been a good vehicle for us, it’s taken off with Sky Sports live coverage and we are really looking forward to the season with two more teams coming in.
“With ten teams now that is going to give even more profile because there will be more matches, more television and more fans.
“Our name has been on Northamptonshire county cricket club’s shirts for the last four or five years and we have a pair of season tickets at Division One Milton Keynes and also sponsor the odd match ball there.
“We have also been sponsors of The Posh (Peterborough United FC) for three or four years and sponsor a game every season.
“Besides being involved in professional sport we like to get involved in the community and we provide football kit for Whittleset Under 14s, who have been having a good season.”
