Employers have a duty of care to ensure employees are working at reasonable temperatures

To meet health and safety regulations in the workplace, employers have a duty to ensure that the environment in which its employees work is kept at a reasonable temperature.

Of course employers also have a moral obligation to treat employees with the greatest of care.

Stanair goes to great lengths to make certain that its employees operate in a comfortable environment.

It is important to ensure that the workplace complies with the minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, or 13 degrees Celsius where employees exert a higher level of physical energy, without exceeding a temperature which is uncomfortably high for its employees.

To guarantee the wellbeing of employees, installing temperature control systems such as air-conditioning units and insulation where possible is advised by the Health and Safety Executive.

Maintaining acceptable temperatures in busy facilities with regularly used industrial doors can be achieved by automating doors to close quickly, or installing air curtains around entrances.
