Stanair has just put in place a useful modification for a manufacturer client, to help them cut back on energy bills.
The Peterborough depot team installed a new sensor on an existing industrial door, connecting it to a doorway air curtain system.
The air curtain is used to keep outside air out, avoiding cold drafts by mixing-in warm air, it also stops insects from entering the building when the doors are opened.
It means that the air curtain is only switched on when the door is opened… as the door shuts the air curtain switches off.
This brings a huge benefit for the manufacturer. They are now able to minimise loss of heat to the facility every time the door is opened. But the automatic switch off means fewer expensive energy bills.
If you need to reduce energy bills in a similar way, or look at other clever ways to get separate systems to work with your industrial doors, contact your local Stanair depot.
