Matt wins his class in Stanair-sponsored race car

matt wins Stanair’s plucky race ace Matt Irons is a step closer to his dream of winning this year’s Classic Touring Car tournament.

He’s just won his class in a recent Easter bank holiday race at Thruxton in Hampshire.

And while he came sixth overall it’s good news for the Rugby depot sales rep.

He also had the fourth fastest lap time, with an average speed of 87.14mph.

Matt races a bright yellow BMW 323 E21 in the Pre ‘83 class of the Classic Touring Car tournament.

A write up on a classic car racing website said: “Matt Irons had a great start in his familiar BMW 323, taking an early third place before slipping down the field.”

Recently Stanair announced it was supporting Matt’s racing for a third year
