The Milton Keynes junior rugby team supported by Stanair is preparing for a once in a lifetime training session with a well known former England player.
The young players in Milton Keynes RUFC’s under 11s team play competitively in the new city in their Stanair shirts.
In April they are travelling to Leeds to train with former England rugby international and British Lions player John Bentley, who is better known as Bentos.
They will also be playing a game during the half time break of a Leeds versus Newbury game, with their opponents yet to be named.
Last week the young team scaled the climbing wall at Xscape in Milton Keynes wearing their Stanair shirts to raise much needed funds for the trip.
Bentos made his England debut against Ireland in 1988 aged 21. He is currently director of rugby at Cleckheaton RUFC – his first and hometown club – and is involved with Leeds Tykes community rugby programme and matchday entertainment.
He is an Honorary President of the rugby charity Wooden Spoon improving the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in Britain and Ireland.
