Airbag system prevents damage to loading bay from careless drivers

Stanair is working with a key client to trial a new airbag system designed specifically to prevent damage to loading bays from HGV drivers.

The airbag acts as a cushion between trailer and loading bay and “seals” the trailer to the building.

It offers protection from damage if the driver is not 100 per cent accurate in positioning the trailer, and means goods can be loaded or off loaded more quickly.

Stanair’s client is trialing it in one docking bay with a view to having it installed across all of its bays.

The new system is one of a number of changes seen in docking bays recently.
