Rugby engineers meet Doctor Who at the theatre
Engineers from Stanair’s Rugby branch bumped into stage and TV star David Tennant while replacing the motor on a massive dock door in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The team saw the current Doctor Who at The Royal Shakespeare Company’s Courtyard Theatre. Tennant was playing Hamlet there, alongside Star Trek actor Patrick Stewart.
The Stanair team worked overnight to replace the motor on a massive 9 metre high dock door without disrupting shows at the famous theatre.
Stanair’s Richard Grieve said: “Servicing and fitting industrial doors doesn’t normally get you near famous people, so this was quite an exciting night for our team.
“Luckily working overnight to fit the door brought our team back down to earth with a bump!”
The team will be returning to the theatre in the next few months to work on a second door, and this time will be taking their autograph books and cameras.
