"This legislation come s into force in October and requires buildings to be fire risk assessed," adds Michael. "This means policies, procedures, evacuation, fire drills and associated staff training must be documented. Also extinguishers, emergency lighting, signage and fire doors must be installed. It is a far reaching ruling but one that has been designed to save lives and employers must comply or face substantial fines."
