Hanson is the world's largest producer of aggregates - crushed rock, sand and gravel - and one of the largest producers of concrete products, clay bricks and ready-mixed concrete. Operations cover North America, the UK, Australia, Asia Pacific and Continental Europe. Hanson employs approximately 27,400 people in 14 countries.
The UK is a strong contributor to overall profit and turnover and accounts for almost a third of group turnover and profit.
Hanson's UK business is divided into two divisions: Hanson Aggregates and Hanson Building Products. The divisions are operated by separate management teams, but work together to ensure a consistent approach towards delivering excellence in customer service.
Hanson Aggregates UK is a leading producer of aggregates from land and the sea (crushed rock, sand and gravel), asphalt and ready-mixed concrete (Premix). The division includes a specialist contracting and infrastructure business Hanson Construction Projects and the ground blast furnace slag business Civil Marine.
Hanson Building Products UK aims to be the UK's largest supplier of heavy building products. The current product range includes:

Hanson Building Products UK's head office is in Stewartby, Bedfordshire. The division operates from around 70 locations.
Hanson Building Products at Whittlesey, Peterborough produces the specialist London Brick, these bricks are produced and supplied to Builders Merchants, Builders and Building Contractors. These bricks are used particularly in the houses built in the 60’s, the main supply is for extensions, conservatories and repair work to these buildings. London Bricks offer the continuity of manufacture, finish, colour and weathering that make them ideal for extensions and remedial work.

Problem
Hanson was using another supplier for the repair, maintenance and installation of their doors, they originally had Roller Shutter doors that kept breaking down. When the company in question were called out to repair the problem it always cost the same ‘magic figure’ and the problem would continue.
Mark Finney decided to shop around for an efficient and effective service that Hanson could rely on. He started as most would on the Internet where he came across Stanair.
Solution
Stanair now regularly maintain and repair the doors at Hanson and have developed a good working relationship with the company.
‘I looked at a traffic light system which I thought would be a perfect solution, once I called you out and you attended the site your surveyor suggested a microwave system would be more appropriate, the doors worked out to be easy to maintain with a twice yearly service agreement.’ Mark stated.
Since working with Hanson, Stanair have installed 4 Rapid Action doors and maintained all of the Roller Shutter doors on the site.
